Feminists commonly claim that the Bible oppresses women, and women need to be liberated from it's patriarchal structure. In this episode, I am thrilled to interview Dianna Williams, who specializes in feminism, feminist theology, and the feminist critique of the Bible. We discuss the history of feminism in America and how feminism interacts with Christian beliefs.

Dear Alisa, What an interesting discussion. I think and believe that most men have had or have a lesser view of women. That view may range from hideous ownership to condescending 'the little woman' and other categorizations. Too long of a story to even attempt, my view of women has been Divinely altered.
I do not use the term or consider myself an advocate of so-called "equality" (although I do agree that the value of men and women is the same in the eyes of G). Instead, I advocate and work as diligently as I can for, what I call, "beyond equal". In the context of the U.S. it means, my hope for every single woman I know is that she will have a life beyond what I ever hoped or experienced; I hope and it is my aim to facilitate, if I can, and at least encourage every woman I know to fulfill the purpose for which she was created.
In the country where my wife and I serve, women have not been treated well in many ways. As a university lecturer I have been fairly forward with the fact that because of the history of disparity between men and women in this country, if there is a choice between "giving a hand up" to a man and a woman, the hand is going to be given to the woman first.
Thank you for highlighting women and their value to the King as described in the Word, even from the beginning.

In the event that anybody names themselves as being women's activist and backings anything toward misandry, at that point they are not what they say they are. They go too far amongst women's liberation and misandry. If you don't mind comprehend this. I am for finished correspondence, sexual orientation imbalance is a genuine social issue. I would know, I have genuine involvement with it day by day, and I am in a social issues class in school right now. I am a glad women's activist who bolsters the majority of its goals, I don't bolster misandry.

Here's some push-back:
At Approx. 21:50 into the podcast, the claim is made that the Lord had already established a subordinate structure (Eve to Adam) prior to the Fall.
This is pure Eisegesis.
Something that has been imported into the text; something that is not found in the original Autographs.
Well over a century ago, Katharine Bushnell (1855-1946) soundly refuted this notion in her seminal work God's Word to Women.
Bushnell was a medical doctor back when it was considered unseemly for women to even consider becoming doctors.
She also took it upon herself to learn Hebrew and Greek so that she could diligently compare and contrast Scripture to see for herself if God had indeed established a gender-based hierarchy in the beginning.
Over time, I've arrived at the same conclusion she did.
No such subordinate structure was laid down by the Almighty before the Fall.

Jack,

No Autographs of Scripture exist, so saying something is not found in the original Autographs is mere conjecture.

If Katharine Bushnell made this claim about the Autographs, her scholarship was greatly lacking.

Hi Alisa I learned a lot through this podcast, Im from Philippines and i totally agree that the Feminist here in our country acting the role of a forerunner for LGBTQ and abortion. Now they want to pass a bill in our constitution to Decriminalizing Abortion here in our country and as a Christian i am saddened by it..it is a big help for me to hear this podcast.
