After receiving several emails from concerned people, I began to wonder if the worldwide ministry MOPS was beginning to adopt progressive Christian theology. Thankfully, my friend and fellow apologist Krista Bontrager played the role of investigative reporter to find out what MOPS is teaching, and what's behind their recent shift in branding and theology. On today's podcast, she shares what she discovered as we tackle the question, is MOPS shifting toward progressive Christian theology?

Really grateful for you taking the time to do this episodes. MOPS affects a lot of women's life so this episode I feel is more practical and related to a lot of women's daily life. The beginning of the episode was a little cringey because it feels like both of you were trying not to be accusatory or offensive to anyone. At this point in the culture war I feel it very important to be bold in what we are saying even if it might come off as offensive. It seems progressive christianity have taken over a lot of ministries starting in the academics. I eventually stumbled on to your blog because I left a church I loved because of progressive Christianity. At first I tried to be nice and understanding but looking back I should have spoken boldly even if it would come off as mean to save my church. When Krista first started describing how MOPS has changed it was obvious progressive Christianity had seeped in. The first signs are vagueness. Not willing to take a direct opinion on the Bible with the excuse it might offend someone. Next is the use of postmodern vocabulary like worldview. Id be interested in hearing what ministries youd recommend that has not been taking over. Thank you must for this episode. I just started going to MOPS this year so I don't know what it was like before so it's good to get a warning there might be some bad influence. I dont find MOPS currently a way to introduce women to Christ. We barely mention Christ or Christianity in the meetings. We have two prayers but that's it. I haven't taken any of the material seriously because it didn't look that good to me and I've learned to be skeptical. This video was very timely for me.
