My Weekly Top 5

Here are some of my favorite things this week. I encourage you to check out these links!

1. This week I had the pleasure of reading Bobby Conway's, Doubting Toward Faith. If you or someone you know is struggling with doubt, this book is an excellent resource. It's real, raw, honest and wise. I highly recommend it!

2. Don't miss this great article by Jennifer Hartline at The Stream, which brilliantly frames the sad reality of what happens when we raise our kids to make "me" the focus of their lives.

3. Nabeel Qureshi was born and raised a Muslim and came to faith in Jesus in College. Since then, he has become on of the most respected apologists in the world. Recently, he was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and given a 4% chance of surviving. This is the  first sermon he has given since his diagnosis, and it's well worth watching, especially if you are going through a difficult time or even facing death. Despite his trial, he is filled with joy and hope!

4. There are countless blog posts floating around about why so many Millennials are leaving the church. Michael Sherrard has put his finger on the real problem in this insightful article. The takeaway for me is this: "There is no biblical way to make church relevant to people who have no interest in surrendering their lives."

5. Lately, I've been reading straight through the Old Testament, rather than doing a deep dive study on a particular book or passage. Reading it in big chunks helps me grasp the big picture and serves to illuminate the great patience and mercy of God. This piece from Amy Hall at Stand To Reason explains why reading through the Bible in a year will make you a better apologist.
